Prepare for Dock Removal with Pier Perfection This Fall

Did you install your dock with Pier Perfection in the spring? With fall right around the corner, here at Pier Perfection we’re ready to fulfill the promise we give our customers, which is doing both the spring installation and the fall removal.

A fair amount goes into prepping your dock, and yourself, for a fall dock removal. It’s important to pay attention to these recommendations to ensure a safe and efficient removal so your dock is stored for winter and good as new for next spring.

In this month’s blog, we’re discussing the necessary steps for prepping your dock for its inevitable removal before fall!

Planning Phase

Luckily, since Pier Perfection does both installation and removal, they’ll know the exact details of your dock required for a safe removal.

  • Water depth
  • Type of dock (roll-in, sectional, floating)
  • Construction

These characteristics of your dock are taken into consideration for its removal, and thankfully that half of the battle is in our system so we can get right into the removal when the day comes.

What You Need to Remove

Of course, we cannot remove your dock efficiently if things are left on it and unaccounted for. As a quick reminder before your fall dock removal, here are some things that can hinder the removal process.

  • Ladders, bumpers, railings, and any other accessories that are not part of the main dock structure need to be removed.
  • If the dock has electrical or water lines, disconnect these to ensure safety during the removal process.
  • Any items left on the dock (furniture, grills, etc.) should be removed and stored securely.

If you do your part, then we’re one step closer to being Pier Perfect for your fall dock removal.

Removal

The rest is up to us here at Pier Perfection. All you need to know is that your dock will disappear in no time, just like how it appeared in the spring.

Like we did when installing your dock, we’ll do so carefully and efficiently. You won’t have to worry about sections being left overnight or an unfinished job to be done the next day. Following our dock removal guidelines is key to getting this done in a smooth and safe manner.
